12/5/1983 - Jacks Valley Power (JVP) - CORPORATE ANNOUNCEMENT

Jacks Valley Power (JVP) announced today that it would implement a plan to extend the useful life of its Virginia coal-fired power plant. The plant is the company’s oldest. The renovation is expected to cost $79 million over the next 10 to 15 years. Company executives point to the fact that a new plant would cost over $600 million as an alternative.
